news about the film Dasavatharam
Dasavatharam means the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, as per Hindu
mythology. Tamil actor Kamal hassan's forthcoming film titled as
Dasavatharam, the actor going to appear in 10 different characters in
this movie. Dasavatharam can be pronounced as Dasa Avatharam, Thasavatharam, Dasavataram,
Dasavadaram, Dasavathaaram etc.,

Filming
started on 3rd August 2006, even though the film was announced on
2005

Upto
now, only limited number of film stills has been released, and the
production side not leaking any news about the film.

Bhumika
chawla, Jyothika, Nadhiya, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Meera jasmine, Simran, Vidya balan, Trisha and Nayanthara names were discussed, but
most of them rejected the offer due to call-sheet problem and some others opted out by the production side. Finally, Asin is the heroine
to one of the Kamal hassans and Jayapradha playing a lead
role.

As
per industry sources, Kamal hassan's different characters includes
a Tall man, American president George Bush character, a Scientist
in NASA, an Iyengar Brahmin role. Veteran comedian Nagesh,
Director P. Vasu, K. R. Vijaya and M. S. Baskar are also in the
star cast, while Napoleon plays a Chola King role.

As
of now, Songs of Dasavatharam would release on April 25th at Nehru
Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Leading Indian Film personalities like
Amitabh Bachchan, Chiranjeevi, Mammootty, Rajnikanth, Mohanlal
would attend the function. The million dollar question is whether
Chinese superstar Jackie Chan will attend the audio release
function. The film scheduled to release on June 2nd.

there are lot of graphics in the movie, it's still under post
production work and this is 4th movie by Kamal-Ravikumar pair.
Previous three movies Avvai Shanmugi, Thenali and Panchathanthiram
were all blockbuster movies.

release function going to held at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

exclusive pictures has been leaked on the net, Kamal tied to a
Vishnu Idol under sea water, in Punjabi dress, as "Nambi"
in Iyengar get up etc.,

film got "U" certificate from the Censor board and would
run for 2 hours 45 minutes.

Music
of the film released on April 25th at Nehru Indoor Stadium. Jackie
Chan, Amitabh Bachchan, Mallika Sherwat, Asin and other industry
giants attended the function. Mr.M.Karunanidhi was the chief
guest. There was a clash between the police and public who bougth
tickets but allowed to enter the stadium to view the event.
Kalaignar going to telecast the program on Sunday ( 27th April
2008 morning 11:30 Am ).

There
will be more connection between the characters and the title as
per KS Ravikumar, the director of the film. Atleast few of Kamal's
10 characters will have any of the 10 avatars name. Matsya (the fish), Koorma (the tortoise), Varaha (the boar), Narasimha (the man-lion), Vamana (the dwarf), Parasurama, Rama, Krishna, Balarama, Kalki.
Out of which our guess is Narasiman, Vamanan, Parusraman, Rama,
Krishnan, Balaraman would be some of the name of Kamal characters.

grand mother, tall man, Scientist, Nambi - Iyengar Brahmin

The
Tsunami scene graphics works are undergoing at Hong Kong.

Director's
choice is "Ulaga nayakane" song, and he is making
a scene presence in the song.

S.KANNAN CHOOLAIMEDU CHENNAI 94 MR.kamal's aspiration to give birth 10 different types of avtars is fulfilled by his grate DASAVATHARAM. His dedication to film society and valuable movie viewers is really appreciable. I could not find suitable words to
appreciate Mr.Kamal, in any language. I think someone (super power) has hidden that appropriate word himself. There is none equal to him except himself. Mr.Kamal's ceaseless toilings have given him a fruitful result. Nothing is in this world to compare him I think. My best wishes to him and I thank his
parents for presented such a sole in Tamilnadu.

I want to notify one mistake was done in the song Mukunda.In that song lyrics, song writer mentioned that,earth was protected by lord vishnu in the Kurma avathar.But actually in the varaga avathar,lord vishnu was protected the earth.lord Vishnu was taken the kurma avathar to give support to mantra hill during the stirring of milk sea.

As an admirer of Kamal hassan,the acting genius, i `m sorry to say that this film is a mediocre stuff. Though there is 10
roles, except 3 others seem to be useless. totally unimaginable things. anyway one has to congrats for for this adventurous venture....... from this movie Mr.Kamal hassan`s original age comes to the surface. in the
previous films it was hid by anyhow... anyway age is making his toll on him........Navarathri is the
Himalaya but Dasavatharam is just a hillock......
The Real Review | Needham / US | Dasavatharam :
A best actor s*ole (from some Asst Director) a superb story line which was new and different and has given his best performance choosing 10 key roles in the story. With nothing more (Story + Kamals roles), the movie has ended up like a normal tamil movie. Don't know how they spent the Rs.60 Crore.
The Story
"Everything that happens is for a purpose and happens as planned by the Supreme Power". You will have to sit and think after
coming out of the movie, why they were showing the 12th century events? Why Asin is there for 2 roles one in 12th century and one in current? What are 10 roles of Kamal? Are they necessary? Yes.
Absolutely. Climax was ultimate. Don't ask about the story from anybody. Just go watch without any expectation.
The Acting
"Ulaga Nayagan has given his Ulaga performance". Kamal has given his 101% of his talent. It was like watching 10 different persons. None of the role was boring or useless. I accept, it was amazing to think all the 10 roles are the same person (1 role 10 mins = 10*10= 100 Mins) 1 hour and 30 minutes of just Kamal on screen in a fast phased movie.
The Hype
After watching the movie, it was very obvious that Kamal found a wonderful
opportunity to present his acting talence the best with this right story line and he utilized just that. No improvements or new ideas were there in other areas to distinguish this costly movie
by the masters from a regular tamil movie. Graphics was 3rd rated. During an era where
dinosaurs show expression, the Make up for Kamals roles were very visible and unexpressive. It fit best for the Japanese role (where not much facial expression was required). The
12th century scenes were like a rich tamil drama scenes. The lighting of the scene spoiled all the efforts of the peoples acting and resources used. I don't know when tamil cini technicians will stop making "Raja Scenes" in broad daylight. Again the very good starting song was wasted by the same above. Lots of technical
advancements are available today with which those scenes could have been made more
dramatically and serious. But kamal was busy with his roles and makeup, while KS.Ravikumar was busy
arranging food for all. Don't know how many will understand the story in full because the background kamal who starts the movie does not finish it properly as the story writer intended. The great expectation to see all the 10 roles in one screen was not there. It is so basic that the director and kamal forgot about it. If this movie (story+Kamal) was done with more knowledgeable directors and technicians, possibly would have resulted in a real great tamil movie. Kamal has to learn to work in team. I still don't understand what did they do to spend
Rs.60 crore to make this movie.
The Others
Somethings that are worth mentioning since they stood out from regular tamil cinema. The stunt by the Japanese role with Fletcher was new to tamil cinema and was fantastic. Other than Asin there was no usual tamil over acting by any actor in any of the scenes.Music was not top notch, but was very good for this movie standards. The dance and song by Sikh role was very good and different than the usual tamil group dance sequences.

I am not usually the kind of person who would write a bad review about a movie, but this movie has pushed me to that limit. I would really like to "warn" people who havent seen it yet. I don't know whats gotten into his brain. He is just so full of himself in the movie. The movie starts off well in an ancient Indian setting and sets the stage for some thing interesting to look forward to. But what follows has no relation whatsoever. The
characters dont revolve around the movie but the movie revolves around the
characters if you get what I mean.... It seemed that unrelated and highly unwanted scenes were introduced just to show "Ulaga Nadigans" ability to act. Beyond a point you cry out.... what the h#**s going on. Besides being a completely illogical movie with no flow, like all of his movies, Kamal has made every attempt to use this movie to serve as a reminder to people that he is an atheist, only this time he chooses to desecrate the statue of Lord Vishnu a hundred times. The action in the movie besides being irrational and unrealistic is
unnecessarily goary with throats getting slit and blood splattering all over the place. One song was good which sounded like a copy from some bollywood movie.... the others were not got at all. Overall it was a pain just sitting through the movie, he has really made a mess out of it. If you love your hard earned money I am 100% sure that you can find better things to do with it.

As a kamal fan its a big disappointment for me.does he really need the 10 roles to be there. only balrame Naidu make done well others makeups is like wearing mask. NO strong story. its a movie for kamal himself. the hard work of kamal doesnt reflect in big screen. all the acting for 10 roles are superb but dosent help for movie here. where is the originality of kamal? i mean for navarthiri - all the 9 roles have nadigar thilagam's originalities (with less makeup).

am a kamal fan and watching his films from "kalathur kannama"
he is wonderful actor, i my personal opinion is the producer has done
a great mistake by inviting the hollywood star jacky chan for the
audio release function. whether they are inviting any indian films for
their films ? then why should we do so, it's like degrading the
kamal's talent.

which theatres the film going to release, showtimes please, they
spent nearly 10 crores ( ? ) for jackie chan, a big amount and a
producer can even take a big movie through the amount. Totally waste

think there is a big mis-understanding between Kamal and the producer
Oscar Ravichandran, yes Ramesh, i also read the tamil magazine news in
"Kazhugaar". When i watch the program in Kalaignar TV on
Sunday, it's clear, because Oscar Ravi not attended the function and
only his brothers attended the function on behalf of him. Moreover,
upto me as i saw, for mammootty also they had not given the proper
respect. Kamal rectified it by saying that he and ravikumar are big
fans of Mammootty and talked about remaking the "Thaniyavardhanam"
film.

read a news in junior vikatan magazine that Kamal is not interested
inviting jackie chan and it all done by the producer as he is the
distributor of jackie chan movies in tamilnadu. as per the magazine,
Kamal feels if jackie chan arrive, it would degrade his popularity
