Tidbits news about the film Dasavatharam

Dasavatharam means the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, as per Hindu mythology. Tamil actor Kamal hassan's forthcoming film titled as Dasavatharam, the actor going to appear in 10 different characters in this movie. Dasavatharam can be pronounced as Dasa Avatharam, Thasavatharam, Dasavataram, Dasavadaram, Dasavathaaram etc., 

• Filming started on 3rd August 2006, even though the film was announced on 2005

• Upto now, only limited number of film stills has been released, and the production side not leaking any news about the film.

• Bhumika chawla, Jyothika, Nadhiya, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Meera jasmine, Simran, Vidya balan, Trisha and Nayanthara names were discussed, but most of them rejected the offer due to call-sheet problem and some others opted out by the production side. Finally, Asin is the heroine to one of the Kamal hassans and Jayapradha playing a lead role. 

• As per industry sources, Kamal hassan's different characters includes a Tall man, American president George Bush character, a Scientist in NASA, an Iyengar Brahmin role. Veteran comedian Nagesh, Director P. Vasu, K. R. Vijaya and M. S. Baskar are also in the star cast, while Napoleon plays a Chola King role.

• As of now, Songs of Dasavatharam would release on April 25th at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Leading Indian Film personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Chiranjeevi, Mammootty, Rajnikanth, Mohanlal would attend the function. The million dollar question is whether Chinese superstar Jackie Chan will attend the audio release function. The film scheduled to release on June 2nd.

• As there are lot of graphics in the movie, it's still under post production work and this is 4th movie by Kamal-Ravikumar pair. Previous three movies Avvai Shanmugi, Thenali and Panchathanthiram were all blockbuster movies.

• Producer Oscar Ravichandran, inviting Very Important Peoples for the audio release function going to held at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

• The exclusive pictures has been leaked on the net, Kamal tied to a Vishnu Idol under sea water, in Punjabi dress, as "Nambi" in Iyengar get up etc., 

• The film got "U" certificate from the Censor board and would run for 2 hours 45 minutes.

• Trailer of the film has been released and running on Television Channels and available for download on movie websites

• Music of the film released on April 25th at Nehru Indoor Stadium. Jackie Chan, Amitabh Bachchan, Mallika Sherwat, Asin and other industry giants attended the function. Mr.M.Karunanidhi was the chief guest. There was a clash between the police and public who bougth tickets but allowed to enter the stadium to view the event. Kalaignar going to telecast the program on Sunday ( 27th April 2008 morning 11:30 Am ). 

• Jackie Chan expressed his interest to act in Indian films if he finds a right project

• There will be more connection between the characters and the title as per KS Ravikumar, the director of the film. Atleast few of Kamal's 10 characters will have any of the 10 avatars name.  Matsya (the fish), Koorma (the tortoise), Varaha (the boar), Narasimha (the man-lion), Vamana (the dwarf), Parasurama, Rama, Krishna, Balarama, Kalki. Out of which our guess is Narasiman, Vamanan, Parusraman, Rama, Krishnan, Balaraman would be some of the name of Kamal characters.

• Some of the get ups are : Fletcher ( someone who makes arrows ), a grand mother, tall man, Scientist, Nambi - Iyengar Brahmin

• The Tsunami scene graphics works are undergoing at Hong Kong. 

• Director's choice is "Ulaga nayakane" song,  and he is making a scene presence in the song.
