There are many pieces to this huge puzzle we call life and I am still piecing it together. My name is Michael Zolotorow and I am 30 years old. I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but have family roots all over the world including Jamaica and Australia. My life experiences have made me positive and confident in completing goals placed before me. Ever since I can remember, acting has had a major influence in my life. At the age of six, I would entertain my neighborhood friends and family by acting out different movies. When I was in school, I would take after school drama classes to learn more about acting. After high school, I joined the NAVY and served for four years as a Gunner. During that time, I had the opportunity to go overseas. Some of the great places I had visited included Greece, Spain, Turkey, Italy, Sicily, Israel, Middle East, Crete, Ibiza, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas/St. Martin and a bunch more. At sea, my responsibilities involved rigorous watches, security drills and training. On my off time, I would go down into the cargo holds and act out movies with friends on the ship. I would also do some stand-up comedy to help the morale. After four years of service, I earned two navy achievement metals as well as letters of commendation from the admiral of the battle group for jobs that I had done at sea, one of which being the youngest non-commissioned officer to run a security force during heightened threat levels. I was also recommended for sailor of the quarter throughout the eastern fleet for my unstoppable drive to get the job done. I left the military as an E-5, which is the highest honor an enlisted person can get within four years. It was a great admiration to serve and help everyone involved in my tour. In the present, I am working out of a satellite office in Langhorne, Pa. My job is mostly land surveying meaning I get involved in construction as well as township projects. At my company, I brought our GPS network on line, which allows us to attain state recognized elevations and geographic locations within seconds. In addition, I corresponded with the software writers to help improve the system. I also tweaked this network to allow the field crews to communicate with the office drafters via an internet link, something that was never achieved until this point. Outside of work, I have a few projects that I play with. The first project is my car, which is a 3000GT. The vehicle was built from the ground up with innovative technology; most of which I have created. One of my creations is a car computer that talks to the engine allowing changes to specific dynamics for fine-tuning (speed). The computer not only communicates with the engine, but also the audio system, which pushes over 5k watts. After completing my project, I started my company “Zolotronics.” I custom build all whole house audio/video systems Full movie rooms etc. One of my company trademarks is my custom subwoofers that allow the people watching the movie to experience what is actually taking place. The woofers change the pressure in the room creating a unique environment for the listener. “If a plane crashes in the movie, it feels like it crashed into the side of the house to the listener.” Out of my experiences, I have gathered that education is the most important factor. It drives us to do what we want to do, achieve the unattainable and allows us to build the confidence necessary to get the job done. Education is paramount in wherever life takes us. This is why I strive to keep learning new things and help train others wanting to learn.
