Much awaited Suresh Gopi - Shaji Kailas thriller movie 'Chinthamani Kolacase' would clash with Balram Vs Taradas. Mohanlal - Sathyan Anthikkad combination's Rasathantram is ready to release on April 7th. Meera Jasmine is the heroine of Rasathantram and Ilyaraja composed the music. Due to the delay of B Vs T, Mammootty's summer release Thuruppu gulan would be postponed. So, Malayalam film goers can expect great treat from Mammootty's Balram Vs Taradas and Thuruppu Gulan, Mohanlal's Rasathantram, and Suresh Gopi's Chinthamani Kolacase.

  Kochi, With Vishu festival nearing, there is a spur of activity in the Malayalam film industry with quite a few releases lined up for the occasion. The top five films are:
  1. "Chintamani Kolacase" - Suresh Gopi and Shaji Kailas team up again to make a murder mystery. Suresh Gopi plays a shrewd lawyer who solves the death of a medico in a ragging incident.
  3. "Rashtram" - It seems Suresh Gopi is the flavour of the season in the Malayalam film industry with two back-to-back releases within a week. This is a typical Gopi film directed by Anil C. Menon who has now entered the big league.
  4. "Madhuchandralekha" - Urvashi and Jayaram come together in this film directed by veteran Rajasenan. But the film leaves you with mixed feelings.
  5. "Vargam" - Prithviraj was heavily banking on the film to boost his career but the result is not as satisfactory as expected.

• Two songs from 'Kilukkam...' among Malayalam toppers : Kochi, The songs from "Kilukkam Kilukilukkam", which is a sequel to Priyadarshan's classic "Kilukkam", are ruling the list. The top five Malayalam songs are:
  1. "Oottipattanam" - Film: "Kilukkam Kilukilukkam"; Music: Deepak Dev; Lyrics: Shibu Chakravarty; Singers: M.G. Sreekumar and Chithra - The song is similar to the one used in the original and the similarity has worked in its favour.
  2. "Sundari onnu" - Film: "Lion"; Music: Deepak Dev; Lyrics: Kaithapram; Singers: Udit Narayan and Shwetha - Deepak Dev has been dominating the list for quite some time and it seems he will continue to do so.
  3. "Pattonnu paadan" - Film: "Kilukkam Kilukilukkam"; Music: Deepak Dev; Lyrics: Shibu Chakravarty; Singers: Ranjith, Benny, Smitha and Arjun - The ensemble song is the second track from the film to enter the list.
