M's character name on Irupatham nootaandu was Sagar alias Jacky, now the producer Antony Perumbavoor who is producing the sequel titled the film with that character name. Deepu's first movie "Winter" not yet released due to some unknown reasons.    Twenty 20 on June 27th : Malayalam film goers can see their favourite film stars in one movie and it's going to be Twenty : 20, the film scheduled to release on June 27th in more than 115 centres. Malluwood's top stars like Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dileep, Suresh Gopi, Pritviraj, Nayanthara, Bhavana, Gopika and others acting in this movie. Gopika playing the heroine to Mammootty and Bhavana as heroine to Dileep. There will be no heroine to lalettan. Nayanthara, Prithviraj, Kunchacko Bobban, Indrajit and other artiste completed their part of work. Only a 10 % of the film is balance to be shoot and a song sequence is balance. Joshy is the director, actor Dileep producing the film for AMMA.     Parunthu next film of Big "M" : Mollywood mega star Mammootty's next film is "Parunthu", he is playing as a money lender ( Mohanlal also doing the same type of role in "Madambi" ) in this film, directed by M Padmakumar. This is the first film for Padmakumar with Big M. Howly Pottur under the banner of Dream Team Productions producing the film. TA Rasaaq is the script writer. AMMA - The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists has issued a SC notice to Meera Jasmine for not giving dates to the AMMA producing film "Twenty Twenty". Meera jasmine who is busy in south indian films is not giving dates to this film and this irritated the top stars. AMMA sent a show cause notice to Meera for not giving her call-sheet to the film. In the mean time she gave bulk dates to Kamal's film "Minnaminnikoottam" !      Mohanlal will do "Burning Illusion" stunt ? Malluwood megastar Mohanlal has been training for the past 18 months to do a stunt in front of international magicians, and some say it could be really a dangerous attempt. Director of the movie is Major Ravi who gave us Keerthichakra with Mohanlal, Jeeva and Gopika.     Tug of War between Producers & Technicians in Malayalam : Malayalam film technicians call for indefinite strike, the one day strike turned to be an indefinite one after Producers Association rejected the plea by MACTA to hike the pay of Technicians. Producers feels that the hike will increase the production cost and atleast Rs 10 lacs per film will be an added burden to a producer. MACTA comprises 18 different sections of film industry workers - right from drivers to directors. Several initiatives from different sections of the film industry have failed to iron out the differences between the two associations. Mohanlal celebrated his 47th birthday and Alibhai movie launch at the Kinfra film and video park campus at the outskirts of Trivandrum. The veteran actor has worked in more than 300 films in his career spanning over 27 years. Alibhai will be shoot mainly in Pollachi, the lucky location for mohanlal. Incidentally, Jagathy's daughter is also to marry the son of legislator P.C. George, who heads the Kerala Congress-Secular party.There was confusion when Chandy met George April 27, the golden jubilee celebrations of the Kerala assembly's first sitting. Prithviraj, Jayasurya get second casting call from Shafi
Not everyone is given a second chance in the competitive world of cinema. But actors Prithviraj and Jayasurya have been approached once again by ace Malayalam director Shafi for a campus-based flick. The duo was earlier supposed to be in "Thommanum Makkalum" with Shafi but it failed to materialise. The film was later completed with Mammootty and Lal in the lead, and went on to become a huge hit. It will hopefully be a second-time-lucky story for the pair.

Meera Jasmine - Narien and Mammootty in Ore Kadal
Malayalam superstar Mammootty and talented actress Meera Jasmine will be seen together onscreen for the first time in director Shyamaprasad's "Ore Kadal". Mammootty, currently shooting for the film in Chennai. Mammootty said "No, this is not an off-beat film like Shyamaprasad's earlier films. In fact this is a more serious film." What has caught the attention of movie bluffs here is Mammootty and Jasmine being cast together, even though not directly opposite each other. Meera has starred with Mohanlal, the other superhero of the Malayalam film industry, in the recent blockbuster "Rasathanthram". "No, no, meera jasmine is not my lady love in the film and don't be worried about the age difference between us. She is a housewife and has a liking towards me, but since I do not have any commitment to anyone, it just passes off," said Mammootty, a three-time National Award winner. Jasmine plays the wife of actor Narein (previously known as Sunil). The duo have acted earlier in "Achuvinte Amma" - another runaway success. Narein's popularity as a star increased after the huge success of "Classmates". Mammootty, who has over 300 films to his credit, is happy that the role provides him with variety. "The film is all about relations and how it culminates and that is why I said it is a serious family film. The film's shooting should be over by the month-end and I am happy to have got yet another role with a lot of variety. I am certainly enjoying it," the veteran star said.

Thiruvananthapuram, Malayalam superstar Mammootty, who has been acting for over 25 years, says he is overwhelmed by the love he's received from people and hopes to play many more roles before hanging his boots. "The love and liking that people have for me has bowled me over and I am simply overwhelmed," Mammootty told in an interview. The actor, who has more than 300 films to his credit, says he is not at all afraid of growing old. "You and me, including the universe, are getting older by the day. It is just a feeling and I am not at all afraid." Mammootty hopes to do many more films and play different kinds of characters. He already has several movies lined up in his kitty. "My hands are full with many projects with leading directors like Renjith, Hariharan, and Blessy," said the superstar who is now shooting for "Pothan Vava" at the Central Prison premises here.

4. "Pachakuthira" - This Dilip starrer is also meant for kids. Directed by Dileep's mentor Kamal, the film has him playing a mentally challenged person, and his antics are going down well with the kids.

Mammootty will not be able to vote in the Kerala elections as his permanent residence is in Chennai. As per sources, he expected to be in Chennai to cast his vote for the May 8 Tamil Nadu elections. And as Suresh Gopi's Pathaka malayalam film is on floor, Suresh too can't be able to cast his vote and the same reason for Mohanlal also, he is in Srinagar for the shooting of Keerthichakraa malayalam film.

Mammootty's Prajapati shooting started

Mammootty's new film Prajapathi is on floor, he is currently in Gopichettipalayam for the shooting of Prajapati, directed by Ranjit and produced by Valiyaveetil Siraj. Mammootty plays the character of Devarmatam Narayanan. Aditi Rao and 'Kadhal' Sandhya are the heroines. The cast includes Nedumudi Venu, Seema, Thilakan, Siddique, Sai Kumar and others. Azhagappan is the cameraman and music composed by Tej. Aditi Rao look alike Actress Shobana. She has done Sringaram a Tamil film.

Mohanlal's Keerthichakraa new Malayalam film :
Keerthichakraa Mohanlal's new malayalam film is on shoot. The major part of the film Keerthichakraa will be picturized in Kashmir valley and some part in Tamilnadu and Kerala. Mohanlal palys a commando role in this film and Major Ravi directs this film. Tamil actor Jeeva and Gopika is also in the cast. Keerthichakraa is a action based film

Chanthupotthu brings relief to Dileep, yes the film doing well in the box office after a slow start. Dileep got a hit at a very crucial juncture. Kamal and Dileep were supposed to start a film after ‘Chandupottu’ but Dileep started another film titled ‘Arjun’ as he is more confident about the film. This made Director Kamal to wait for the dates of Dileep.

Vadakkumnathan shooting completed :
Final schedule shooting of Malluwood super star Mohanlal's Ramzan release Vadakkumnathan has completed in north malabar region. Padmapriya plays the heroine role of Vadakumnathan , the film is produced by Govindan kutty. The post production work will start soon as the film scheduled for Ramzan release.

Suresh Gopi and Shaji Kailas team up again :
After the super duper hit of Bharathchandran IPS, Suresh Gopi is teaming up with director Shaji Kailas again in The Tiger.

`Akale' directed by Syamaprasad claimed six honours, including that for the best feature film, in Kerala State film awards for 2004 announced here on Saturday. `Kathavaseshan' directed by T.V. Chandran, `Kaazhcha' by debutant director Blessy and `Oridam' by Pradeep Nair won four awards each. The awards were announced by Kerala Culture Minister A.P. Anil Kumar at a press conference.

Unlucky Malluwood Star : 
Malluwood star Dileep’s Pandipada, which opened on his lucky date - July 4 is not doing well at the Kerala box-office. July 4th becomes unlucky to Dileep. The first drawback was, the film released on a week start, followed by a bandh and also the negative talk about the film makes a dull in collection. Everyone blames Dileep for this tragedy at the box office collection, because he was the only person stick to the date July 4th.

Mammootty's Rajamanickam : 
Rajamanickam, Malluwood Mega Star Mammootty's new film, scheduled to starts in Pollachi on July 15th and the film is produced by 'Valiyaveetil Movies' . Rajamaanickam is an action based film with punch line dialogues and different get up wearing only  a lungi and baniyan by Mammootty. Nayanthara not interested with Malluwood :
Eventhough the servant maid character of Nayantara in Raapagal getting lot of accolades in Kerala, Nayanthara says "NO" to malluwood films as she is currently busy with Kollywood .Her skin show getting popular in Kollywood and as a result lot of films in her hand.Anyhow she will return to  Malluwood if she get some good characters. Malluwood : Udayon Vs Naran release
Malluwood Mega star Mohanlal's Udayon directed by Bhadran expected for July 7th release, but now its delayed by a month. The release of Udayon would be in the Mid of August. Mohanlal's another film Naran directed by Joshi scheduled for September release, but due to the delay of Udayon, the release date of Naran will also be postponed. If there is not sufficient gap between the release of Udayon and Naran, the latter will suffer.

Tamil actor Pasupathy, plays the villain role. The shooting of Naran will start from June 7 and is scheduled to release for Onam 2005. 

Taskaraveeran will release as per shedule ? 
Due to court stay order the release of Malluwood Mega Star Mammootty's film Taskaraveeran has been postponed. Now Thasakaraveeran will take time to get released. A Chennai based financier got the stay order for Taskaraveeran until his dues are settled. Hectic talks are going on between the producer, distributor and financier to bring an amicable settlement and release the film by May 27 before the monsoon season starts in Kerala. This makes Mammootty and Mohanlal to rethink to give dates to small producers in future.

Jayasurya is not equal to Mohanlal ? 
Until a few days ago, Jayasurya was very excited that he was going to act with Mohanlal in a new film. Ranjit is going to direct it. But, now Jayasurya has announced that he was going to withdraw from the film. He was initially told that his role is as important as that of Mohanlal's. but, to Jayasurya's surprise, he found that the importance given to his role had come down drastically as the film shaped up. When he saw the final script, he was not happy by the way his character was portrayed. So, simply to avoid unnecessary bitterness, Jayasurya has decided to walk out even before the film started. 
   

Mammootty is his own competitor in Malluwood : 
Mammootty’s new film Thaskaraveeran which was to open this Friday has been delayed by another week. It was due to pressure from Lal the producer and distributor of Thommanum Makkalum which is still going strong in all areas. Lal feels that the Thaskaraveeran will affect the collection of Thommanum Makkalum. But Taskaraveeran distributors are unhappy with this delay, they feel that box office collection would get affected because of monsoon which will start by the first week of June in Kerala.

Dileep and Navya nair doing hero and heroine in Pandipada directed by Rafi-Mecartin. The shooting of Pandipada is going on in full swing at Udumalpet in Tamilnadu. Dileep and his brother Anoop are the producers of the film under their home banner 'Grand Prodcutions'. Dileep and Navya Nair earlier been paired in films like Ishtam, Mazhathullikilukkam, Kunjikoonan, Kalyana Raman. Pandipada is a full length comedy entertainer in which Dileep plays Bhuvana chandran, a real estate broker. Navya plays Meena a Tamil girl who falls in love with the hero. Music is by Suresh Peters and camera is by Salu George. 

Mohan lal not to Kailash
As Mohanlal is busy with his Udayon film shooting he dropped his pilgrimage plans to Kailash Mansarovar. He was leave on May 15,
but Bhadran’s Udayon shooting never seems to end! Malluwood film Udayon was supposed to be completed by May 10, so that the actor could go for the pilgrimage. But unfortunately the shooting is going on and will be over only by May end. Mohanlal now plans to postpone his pilgrimage to next year. 

Diya comes to Malluwood : 
Diya made a pretty glamorous debut in Kollywood and went on to act in films like 'Dreams' with Danush. After that there is no chance for her in tamil industry, She also did a tiny but glamorous role in Vijay's cousin's debut film Karka Kasadara. She now makes her entry in Malluwood. 'Minnal' is the name of the film. The film is going to be launched soon. Prithviraj is playing the lead role. The rest of the cast includes Indrajit, Jagadi, Kalpana, Vijayaraghavan and others. Balachandra Kumar is directing the film.

Nayantara is a Servant maid :
Nayantara who is doing glamorous roles in Kollywood is playing a servant maid role in a Malluwood even without make up .She is doing the servant maid role with Mammootty in Rappakal. This film directed by Kamal has Sarada, Balachandra Menon and Geetu Mohandas also in the cast. In the film Nayanthara had to sweep the floors, feed the cows and play maid to Geetu Mohandas and Maheswari. In Rappakal , Mammootty also doing his character as a servant

April 14 is Vishu in Kerala and the most awaited film this year is Mohanlal's Chandrotsavam. A Carnatic music based subject. Whenever Mohanlal has acted in films based on classical music, they have been huge hits, like His Highness Abdullah, Bharatam, etc. Mohanlal playing a singer role called Srihari in Chandrotsavam, expectations are high. Renjith is the script writer and director of the film. In Chandrotsavam three Tamil actresses feature in it - Khushboo, Sujatha and Meena. Meena is a favourite pair for Mohanlal.

Jayaram is happy :
This year is going to be a good one for actor Jayaram. He has lined up many fabulous projects that will be completed and released before the end of this year. Shooting of his film Winter is drawing to a close at Hyderabad. Newcomer Deepu is the director. Bhavana is the heroine. After 'Vesham', director VM Vinu is getting ready to work with Jayaram in a new film. They haven't selected a name yet for the new project. DA Razaak is writing the film's screenplay. Jayaram's Onam release will be a film with Johnny Anthony. The director had recently completed 'Kochi Raajavu'. Work on the new film will begin shortly. For Christmas this year, Jayaram will come up with Shaji Kailash's film. Murali Nagavalli has recently selected him as the hero of his next project. 

Kamal's latest chithram Raapakal starring Mammootty 
The shooting of Kamal's latest film Raapakal is fast progressing in Ottappalam. Kamal who made female oriented films like Manjupole Oru Penkutty and Perumazhakalam has decided to change tracks and this time thought of casting Mammootty. Two heroines of the film, Nayantara and Geetu play Gauri and Malavika. The film also has Balachandra Menon, Vijayaraghavan, Suresh Krishna, Salim Kumar, Balachandran Chullikkadu, Thara Kalyan, Janardhanan and many others. Raapakal is scripted by T A Razak. Songs penned by Kaithapram has music composed by Mohan Sithara. The film produced by Howly Potter under the banner of Dream Team Productions will be brought to the theatres by Swargachithra. 

Nadiya re-enters malayalam film industry
Finally, it is happening! Nathiya - the yesteryear heroine of malayalam, tamil and telugu film industry has accepted an offer to act in a Malayalam film. ‘Ullurukkam’ is the name of the film. Nadia made a very successful comeback in tamil and acted in a Tamil movie titled "M.Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi " which was produced by Editor Mohan and Directed by Raja, and was soon flooded with offers. But, surprisingly she had refused most of them. ‘Ullurukkam’ will mark her return to Malayalam films. A production company named 48 Frames is making the film. Biju C Kannan is directing it. Mukesh, Biju Menon, Bhavana and others form the rest of the cast. 

Gopika shifts residence to Chennai 
Gopika has finally shifted her residence to Chennai. She said that she was finding it difficult to travel from Kerala to Chennai for shooting. She has now taken a house for rent in Saligramam, a suburb very close to Kodambakkam. Gopika is now a busy actress in Tamil. Until recently, she was staying at five star hotels at the expense of the film’s producers. Now that she has established herself as a busy actress in Tamil with plenty of projects in the pipelines, she felt that she might as well take a house for rent and settle down here for a while. 

Mammooty Meera Jasmine bags Ujala-Asianet 2004 Awards: 
Malluwood Mega Star Mammooty, who played stellar roles in the Malayalam films "Kazhca" and "Vesham" last year, has been named the best actor in the prestigious Ujala-Asianet 2004 film awards.Of the 19 awards, "Kazhca" bagged five. The other awards won by the debut film of director Blessy were best film, best new actress (Padmapriya), best cinematographer (Azhakappan) and best child artiste (Master Yash).This is the seventh edition of the film awards jointly given by Ujala and the leading Malayalam TV channel Asianet. Ace director Kamal bagged the best director award for his film "Perumazhakkalam"."Perumazhakkalam" also won the best actress award for Meera Jasmine, the special jury award for Kavya Madhavan, the best scriptwriter award for T.A. Razak, the best male playback singer for P. Jayachandran and best editing award for Rajagopal.Upcoming star Dileep won the special jury award for his role in "Kathavaseshan" while Prithviraj and Geetu Mohandas bagged the special mention award.The best supporting male and female actor awards went to Innocent and Gopika respectively for their roles in "Vesham".Veteran comedy artiste Jagathy Sreekumar, who has acted in 1,100 films, was given the lifetime achievement award.The awards would be formally presented at a ceremony at Kochi March 27. The total prize money for the 19 awards is Rs.650,000.

Blessy scripts malluwood film on Padmarajan's story: 
Malayalam director Blessy is currently scripting a film based on a short story by his mentor Padmarajan to malluwood mega star Mohanlal.Blessy had made a successful debut last year with Mammotty-starrer "Kazhcha", about a Gujarati boy who found his way to a family in Kerala after the devastating earthquake there.

Jayaram in 2 :

Well-known mega-serial director KK Rajiv is all set to direct Jayaram in 'Ishtathode Swantham Amma'. Shri Mookambika Films is producing the project. The banner had previously produced films like 'Theerthadanam' and 'Hridayathil Sookshikan'. After directing 'Wanted', Murali Nagavalli is going to direct Jayaram in his new film. Lakshmiraj is going to be the heroine. Gopan is producing the film on Varsha Productions' banner. Manoj K Jayan, Kalabhavan Mani, Sai Kumar, Vijayakumar, Jagadi and others form the rest of the cast. 

Sridevika from Tamil to Malayalam
Director Tulasidas has launched a new film with Prithviraj in the lead. 'Avan' is the name of the film. The film was launched recently at Thiruvananthapuram's SS Digital Studios.Prithviraj's co-star in the film is going to be Sridevika, a Malayali girl who made her debut in a Tamil film. Her first and only film in Tamil is 'Ramakrishna'. There is no new films for her in tamil, her name is also more or less synonym to Sridevi, same aged heroine in tamil industry and daughter of Actor Vijaykumar. 'Avan' , the film also stars Jagadi, Siddhique, Janardhanan, Harishri Ashokan, Indrans and others. The film highlights about the bond between brothers and sisters. 

Priyan back with Kilukilukkam: 

Shogun who produced Kilukkam with Mohanlal is planning to take the second part of the film named Kilukilukkam with the superstar. The film will be directed by Priyadarshan. This film will begin only after Kochi Rajavu is completed and released by Shogun.

Malayalam actress Menaka returns to acting: 
Menaka, a yesteryear actress of Malayalam films, will don the greasepaint after 19 years.The former actress, who had quit a successful acting career when she married film producer Suresh Kumar, is making a comeback, albeit on the small screen. She is slated to play the lead role in mega TV serial "Kaliveedu". Kerala has seen comebacks by several former heroines in the last two years. However, except Sheela and Urvasi, the others, like Ambika, Seema, Reena and Kalaranjini, had to be content with television serials.

Prakash Raj in Malayalam : 

Two years after the stupendous success of CID Moosa, Dileep’s own banner “Grand Productions” is producing a film titled Pandipada to be directed by the Director duo Rafi and Mecartin. The shooting will start on March 10 at Pollachi, Prakash Raj to play an important role in the film.Navya Nair is Dileep’s heroine and the cast will also have Nedumudi Venu, Harisri Asokan, Cochin Haneefa, Sunitha and others. Pandipada will be complete in two schedules and is due for release on July 4, Dileep’s lucky date.

After Malluwood Chandrolsavam and Vadakkumnathan : The pooja function of Bhadran's Mohanlal film was recently held in Kochi. The shooting of the film made under the banner of Varnachitra will begin on March 5. Mohanlal after completing Chandrolsavam and Vadakkumnathan will join the sets of Udayon. The film is expected to release in July.
 

Director Jayaraj's By the People in Malluwood : Jayaraj is planning to do the second part of the hit film For the People. The film has been named By the People. The film is produced by Sabu Cherian under the banner of Anandbairavi. The screen play and dialogues are penned by the famous dramatist,novelist and Kannada film writer Sunil Parameswaran.Sunil Parameshwaran had written. ‘Ananthabhadran’, which was made into a film by Santosh Shivan. This will be Sunil’s first film in Malayalam. The film has the same theme of For the People and importance will be given to youth. The success of ‘4 The People’ inspired its producer and director to come up with its sequel. ‘By The People’ is the name of the new film. The film’s shooting begins on the 10th of March. 

Kochi Rajavu, Dileep and Kavya Madhavan :

After a string of hit films together, Dileep and Kavya Madhavan are set to provide another entertainer with the shooting for "Kochi Rajavu" fast nearing completion. Johnny Antony, who had directed Dileep in "CID Moosa", is directing the film. "Kochi Rajavu", slated for release April 14, is being shot in locales around Kochi.

Divya Unni in Bhadran’s new film ‘Udayon’ starring Mohanlal :

Divya Unni had announced that she would be quitting the film industry after her wedding. She said that her bigger priority will be her career as a classical dancer. But, she seems to have changed her mind. Divya Unni returns with director Bhadran’s new film ‘Udayon’ starring Mohanlal in the lead. This is not her first post-marriage movie offer but Divya had refused all of them. The former actress had settled down in Houston, US with her husband. She had recently come to Kerala with her husband to spend holidays. Shooting of her role begins in the month of March. Divya alone will return to Kerala again for the film. Soon, acting will become a vacation job for this retired actresses.

Fazil's New Tamil film: 

Sonia Agarwal will play heroine in Fazil's Tamil film made under the banner of Lakshmi Movie Makers. Many other famous actors will too star in this film. 

Part II : Kottayam Kunhachan
In the year 1990, Mammooty had starred in the hit film 'Kottayam Kunhachan'. Inspired by its success, the producer is getting ready with its sequel and Mammooty had agreed to star in it. Dennis Joseph, who wrote the story for the first film, is also going to be the storywriter of the sequel. The first part was directed by Suresh Babu. He is going to direct the sequel too. 
  

Plastic surgery on Navya Nair's lips :
Quite a few artistes have plastic surgery done to improve on their looks. But Navya Nair's case is different. Navya one of the busiest actresses of Malayalam cinema, and steadily gaining a foothold in Tamil too, met with an accident and tore her lips while shooting for a Malayalam film. A few stitches took care of the problem. But the actress while shooting for her new Tamil film Amritham in Chennai experienced an acute pain. The stitches had given way. Promptly taken to the Appollo hospital, she underwent a plastic surgery, and has been advised rest for a week. Incidentally, the surgeon who did her lips is the same one who'd done the cosmetic surgery on Rajinikant's lips too. 
 

Mega Star Mammootty bags film critics award: 
Mega star Mammootty has been awarded the prestigious Chalachitra Ratnam by the Kerala Film Critics Association. Mammootty has been given the award for completing his silver jubilee in Malayalam films and for his stellar performance in films in 2004.The 28th edition of the awards were announced at Trivandrum on Friday by association general secretary Manarkayam Baby. These awards, one of the most prestigious in the Malayalam film industry, do not carry any cash prize. Upcoming superstar Dileep has been adjudged the best actor for his sensitive portrayal of an engineer in the film "Kathavaseshan". "Perumazhakkalam" and "Kazhcha" were joint winners in the best film category while Gitu Mohandas and Kavya Madhavan shared the best actress award for their roles in "Akale" and "Perumazhakkalam" respectively.Kamal, who directed "Perumazhakkalam", was declared best director. "Akale", directed by Shyama Prasad was selected as the second best film. Ace comedian Mamukkoya and yesteryears glamour actress Ambika were selected as the second best actor and actress respectively. Master Yash who mesmerised film audiences in "Kazhcha" was awarded best child artiste and its director Blessy won a special mention award.
