Ajith's Billa, remake will success?

Two remakes of two huge hits in bollywood - both coincidentally from the 1970s - are released in one week to great expectations... but sink without a trace. So, the question arises - do we really need remakes?

The most memorable remake fiasco was by none other than mighty Ram Gopal Varma. His "Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag", made with an obscenely high budget and big stars, is a re-styled and re-modelled version of Ramesh Sippy's 1975 cult film "Sholay". But it sank at the box office without a trace.

The same week, another remake, "Victoria No 203" of the 1972 film of the same name, had a similar fate. Most halls running these films were going empty on the very first day.

the bollywood remakes are not doing well in box office collection and the critic from the fans is that they are spoiling the super hit old versions.

In southern india, in tamil films , Actor Ajith currently doing the remake of 80's super hit movie of Rajnikanth's billa. in the new billa, ajith and actress nayanthara in lead. vishnuvarthan directs this new remake of billa, i like to know wthether the remake trend is healthier, or the script writers and directors are out of resource. ?

Hey all,

i am also having the same doubt, because a new controversy has been started regarding the foreign dancers involved in the film. Ajith's billa songs, especially the song "My name is Billa" has been shooted with foriengners to dance as item numbers with ajith, after the several tries by the production side they finally got nearly 50 foreign devotees from "Puttaparthi" and they involved them for the dance, this created a new controversy among the devotees of the group.

My opinion is that no remakes will get good response, because the old version will completely occupy the brains of the audiences, they will compare each and every scene of the new one with the old. so they don't satisfy with new one eventhough it is going to be a fantastic one.

Anyhow, i am a ajith fan and my best wishes to 'thalai' for the success of Billa 2007.

Why the doubt about the film Billa, Ajith will surely make the movie Billa 2007 a grand success. It will show our "Thala" capacity, no one is ready to do remakes, Ajith doing it with guts, so it is 100 % Billa 2007 will be a box office hit. no doubts. when is audio release of Billa.

i am kanyakumari natraj. the remake of old films is a life testing one. because see the result of hindi sholay. it' will be a hard one for Ajith to prove against rajni.

Rajnikanth's billa was a super duper hit one, and even if we see the film in tv channels we are watching it again and again.

But, the cine goers will surely compare each and every scene of the old billa with new one of ajith's billa and it will surely make ajith a step down. As ajith is not in form and his latest movies not doing well at the box office, ajith could avoid this experiement.

Director Vishnuvarthan has give a hit movie, it doesn't mean that he is capable of handling all type of movies.

nayanthara will also be copared with actress sripriya.but the matter she won't be badly hit with this movie as she will have some other movies to reach theatres. it's only decide the fate of ajith in film industry.

ajith will make this film a good one. we expect the release of ajith's billa for diwali. but there is no release. hope it will be on screen on december 2007. nayanthara and namitha is good looking on the stills and photos of the movie. the pictures of nayanthara in billa is very good, and as i a see in magazines the photos are highly wonderful and they have spent lot of money. helicopters has been used for ajith. billa will be a sure.

Thala Billa 2007 film trailer is simply superb and sylish. wow, that's the word i can give. nayanthara's glamour is simply loving one. Ajith's billa will surely overtake Rajni's one.

ajith and vishnuvardhan is doing a highly risky movie. Because everyone knows how super star rajni, sripriya worked in Billa.i think Nayanthara will play the role of sripriya. if so, it's her talent to prover herself against the acting giant sripriya.
as i read in a magazine, the director told that they have taken the basic storyline and screenplay will be different. The trailers of the movie saying the same thing, they have spent lot of crores for this, the stylish is good. Songs ? whether bill songs released or yet to be released

i don't think it would be hit, i think ajith = vishnuvardhan taking a high profile risk. the film can run for our beloved nayanthara.

I am a fan of Ajith.He looked very smart in the film VALLI.In BILLAH too he looks smart but he is not at the best yet very handsome.No doubt BILLAH will be a hit and then Ajith will be treated even better than RAJINI.I am sure our star Ajith will have done better than Rajini.We will see a big hit at the end of 2007 which is the turning point of AJITH.

originial billa rajniknath watched ajith new billa remake and praised him . he saw the movie in a preview theatre with ajith, director vishnuvardhan and shalini. recently ajith showed billa to vijay, madhavan and surya.

ok, what about nayantara, yes, trisha praised her that nayanthara is looking great and stylish in billa ( i think 3 & 9 doing something against 'A" otherwise, how a competitor will praise another one, more than that they are women, it's impossible. so, i come to the conclusing that ( trisha & nayanthara ) jointly against asin.
