In Malayalam film industry there are so many hit films. They are successful just because of the story. To name a few, Vandhanam, Dhasaratham, Kingini, Bharatham, Iyer the great etc., Likewise in Tamil, once in a bluemoon we come across such films like Mugavari, Kandukonden Kandukonden, Pudhiya Vasantham, KadhalKottai, Poove Unakkaaga, Sooryavamsam,Samsaram Athu Minsaram, Sakalakala Sambhandhi, Mr.Bharath, Salangai Oli,Friends etc., Likewise, good, meaningful and thought-provoking songs are also in a decreasing trend. When will the healthy air in Tamil cinema will blow?

this is not the problem only in tamil cinea,
malayalam films, hindi films also experience the same.
malayalam movies also following the new tamil film culture.
there are some good films coming in tamil even now, but won't run because of less advertisements.
reliance, ayangaran, pyramid saimira and other corporates entered the scenario, so hereafter you can't expect a good story.
only fantasies and meaningless songs will occupy.
