Why Director Shankar 'S Pictures' films trailing at the box office

I am a fan of Director Shankar.

It was a good attempt when he produced films like Kadhal, imsai arasan 23 pulikesi, veyil . all these films were good at box office and the collection was also good. the films were directed by the associate and assistant directors of shankar.

but now, kallori, arai enn 305il kadavul were trailing at the box office while other films dominating the theatres.

why this happend, the reason for starting this thread is, i praise director shankar for giving opportunity to the new directors and his assistants ( you and me also might be in the future ). so, if we share some good reasons for the failures of his latest films, it would help director shankar in selecting the scripts and directors in the future . so tamil films fans can expect some good quality films from a good production house like "S" Pictures.

this is a good thread and thanks for starting this. i write this in the hope that director shankar would watch this thread.

yes, you are right, his latest productions are all in vain. kallori was a good subject but something missed in the screenplay and i don't know how to describe that.

arai enn 305 is good but some logical holes are there in the film. kanja karupu is good in acting.

some of the reasons i beleive for the trailing of shankar productions in the ratings are :

1. director shankar producing films with same directors like balaji sakthivel, simbudevan, vasantha balan. he should come out of this circle. see, it was good when he gave first chance for them to direct the film, but repeating with the same directors might be one of the biggest flaws shankar is doing.

2. he should spend money in advertisements also, without proper promotions no film will run for "S Pictures" banner. the reason is simple, it's not a AVM production. S pictures is in the begining stage they should have to travel a long distance to attain the status of AVM.

3. I think Balaji sakthivel is good in writing the stories but he lacks just in a small part in the screenplay ( i feel kadhal is better than kallori), otherwise he is good director. but in the case of simbudevan, his story one line might be good but the screenplay having lots of logical holes. he should first try to give a good screenplay with logic. even if it is a period film or comedy it should have some good humor and logic. imsai arasan don't had any humour, upto me.

do one thing ask mr.shankar to spend more amount, he is getting huge sum of money for the direction from his producers, but he is producing low budget movies. there is not ethics.

he won't bother about the flops, he is getting lumsum amount for directing movies. why should he bother ? he is not a producer coming from a village to kodambakkam with money got by selling his land / farm house

Is it true ? Meera jasmine out of the "Aanthapurathu veedu" project ? a news about this film telling meera jasmine is no longer in the project and also saying meera only get out of this project. whichever to be true, but it is not good for meera's film career !

s pictures new production is eeram. we saw rural based reality subjects in the recent, now you can see the reality story based on urban tamilnadu through Eram

new film of S Picutres is "Eeram" Sindhu menon who acted in guest roles in some tamil movies like samudram, kadal pookal is making her debut as lead lady through eeram.

Mirugam fame aadhi is the hero.

rajni released the audio of eeram.

Rettai Chuzhi is another film going to release. balachander and bharathi raja acting in this movie rettai chuli.

i believe these two films will be success

The two films that trailed in the box didnt relate much to every audience.It doesnt happen/seen/experience by everyone in day to day life.e

The other film kadhal,veyil and immasai arsan had a usp with them and also the timing.Kadhal it was musical hit and had good story.It was movie for everyone.
Veyil had a good charecterization and the characters relates to lot of people in the society.

Imssai Arsan was a concept.It is something like bisleri introduced water bottle when everybody was trying to sell ....... .It involved marketing...(Need of the customers). Comedy spoof story liked by many children and family njoyed it too. Vadivelu was the reason for the main success.

To add more, I liked Aryan yen 305 kadavul was made with a comical screenplay to deliver the message (Do some work). Also, The starcast was not that apt for the movie.

You cant even watch the kalluri movie hero for 15 minutes continuously..How do you expect people watch him for 2 hours on a working day.It was not a fun movie.

Cinema is always about glamour and fantasy with a message.
