From the mid 70's to mid 80's village based subjects made huge impact on the tamil film industry. for example
16 vayathinele
kizhake pookoom rail
etc.,
in the recent times, veyil, kaadhal, subramaniyapuram, paruthiveeran were the some of the films based on village backdrop and earned a lot in the box office.
the new one going to join this group is Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu a new move starring a new faces Vishnu as hero and Upcoming young star Saranya mohan as heroine.
V. Selvaganesh is the music director, he worked with ar rahman and the songs already hit the market.
my favourite song is Laesa Parakkudhu from this movie vennial kabadi kuzhu.
the title is also different, but there is a kabadi group in ottanchatiram near palani having this name. the film is based on kabadi.
let us wait and see will this film also win the race.

I am in bangalore now, whether this film will release here or not , i don't know, if it release i may go to this film for saranya, she is cute and beautiful like angel.
the hero vishnu, not so appealing, but i can comment only after watching his acting.
this film would be a silent winner like subramanipuram, but the promos should be made in big way to reach the target audience.
best of luck for the cast and crew

hero viishnu has changed his look for d movie...he has totlly changed in to village look for d character...his original look ul see only in his next movie...so keep watching..

i saw the movie its awesome .the hero of the movie has worked with full dedication.the climax of the movie makes the crowd remain still.the songs are very nice the hero and heroine have beautifully played their role.the other players of the team have acted very well especially the subramaniyam and appu kuti .this movies action blows of the mind.i hope the movie is a very big hit.

Kabadi Kabadi (Mannai Thodu) is very nice song
singer Shankar Mahadevan voice very good...
sung with his usual fluidity and vibrancy as he switches from gentle romance to fervour. The pace of the refrain 'kabadi' makes you tap you feet. The lyrics are quite pleasing as it's not all just about glorifying the players
