hari i have a question, why are you just showing again and again the same aruvaal, thaavani heroine, 4 songs, 4 fight scenes etc., just waste of time and nothing new. change your backdrop and try differently as other directors, otherwise it would be a risk in your career

Iam really not sure of your rating because you forgot or you don't know successful director's such as K.S.Ravikumar,Saran,Lingusamy,sasi,sasi kumar,dharani,jayam raja and so on.
You have just selected few commercial/masala directors(not so worthy as you rated) who can make you not to think about the script but to think about the hero.
So, your rating is not reliable one.  

in tamil industry currently more than 170 directors in field... in this 170 more than 92 directors reached 1st place. but no one can stay in first place.... so ve know one thing in this .... first place it not sure for every one..... today first place SHNKAR tomarrow in that place YOUNGER(new person). that is cini field....

1. K. Balachander : the sculptor of direction in tamil cinema and probably the first director(please correct me if i m wrong) to bring in the mainstream women oriented stories to big screen and also giving importance to characterisation.

NO DOUBT, THE EVER GREEN TOP DIRECTOR IS NONE OTHER THAN 'CHERAN'. he is the only director who give the best movie like the real emotions,real experiance,he is not a person who work for money,award and fame,he is a person hardly working for us,he is realy wants 2 giv some message 2 us.in my term film is not just an entertainment,somthing should touch our heart.and people who read this plz think and give ur opinion.

I like to add Sasikumar as the top director in tamil now.

i tell you reasons, i hope you all will accept it.

first reason, in his first movie itself he proved his caliber.

second, as a producer he dare to producer pasanga film. only a man who is having good quality "rasanai" can produce a film like that, the director of Pasanga movie also told this to the media. the director got the chance to direct this film only after telling the story to sasikumar.

third, as an actor his new film Naadodigal director balachander, cheran praised the trailer of the film. so sasikumar selected a good film script to act.

these three points is evidence to feel that sasikumar will give lot of good movies and will be a trend setter without any doubt.
 

Best Five Tamil directors off all time

1.Sridhar(The first director in India to tell that Camera can also tell storey, His stylle is impecable, he concentrate in all aspects of the film. In short I am lucky to live in his era)
2.MGR(Although he is not a good actor,according to the great Satyajiray his Naoodi Mannan is directed briliantly by MGR than the origina English version of Prisioner of Zenda)
3.Maniratnam ( Hes is a genius, cannot critocise his works on later film. His Earlier films photography was over done in terms of lighing effect)
3.Balachander ( Excellent screen play witer, who gave prominant to Women charcters. He lacks tecnical concentaction).
4.Barathiraja (Introduced new diamension to the Sounth Indian Cinemas. His story telling especially in the village enviornment is impecable. His weakness is tend to deliver same kind of techical production film fer film).
5.Bakiyarajs. (What a story teller. I think he is/was the best screen play writer ever in Indian films. Weakness using MGR's style of song sequences.Climax of his films are unique).
