I think after big Ms generation there would be no malayalam film industry.Bcoz our options are not much, only covered in these two.I agree that they have tremendous acting skill and good experience in this industry. But to get a strong actor like that we need to go alot.

usually while surfing tv channels like surya tv, asianet, kairali, i will see mammootty films, if not a mammootty film i will check whether it's a suresh gopi film. usally i won't watch mohanlal films are others movies.
your thoughts are correct to some extent.
there is no competitive actors in malayalam after the mammootty - mohanlal.

watch a new movie by my fav mohanlal and suresh gopi in one film to be directed Sajeev Paravoor and scripted by S N Swamy famous for his CBI sequels played by mammootty.
in this film mohanlal playing as a lawyer, and suresh gopi, well not in regular uniform, instead playing as a father of two children.

this is very un lucky year for malayalam film industry within 45 days malayalam movie industry l0st it's great sons lohithadas, rajan p dev, and now murali.
no one can fill the place of murali and rajan p dev in acting and lohithadas in script writing and direction.
