Mohanan is a debutant director and one time assistant of Director Sathyan anthikad.


The story is all about friendship with a low level man and a film star.

Mammootty plays the film star role in Katha Parayumbhol.

Sreenivasan plays a barber role.

Barber balan living in a village and sturggling to even have a rotatable chair for his barber shop. everyone in the village not taking any interest with him and the financer also not interested to finance him. one day the shooting of the film star ashok raj starting in the village. Villagers as usual round around the film unit and talking about the shooting and omit their regular duties. through barber's children the villagers came to know that Sreenivasan ( barber character) was a close friend of the super star and knowing this, the people giving importance to the barber and helping him in each and every aspect, the financer who reject the money now voluterly giving the rotatable chair for his barber shop, the people doing this all to have a close talk with super star, but Sreenivasan don't know their intention. but he reluctant to refresh the friendship with film star. and what happenend in the end is the story !

Meena plays the wife role to srinivasan.
