i saw the movies and after seeing the movies i was very hurt by seeing the story. its true that we are por but its not our story afer seeing this our poor children are just looking as a thief and behave like a animal in the age of 10 or twelve they r going to bar and playing with guns i think this type of things not happens in our country the country which i9s known as the country of peace the country which is known as the country of ram and allah were money is nothing among the relationship were ur showing a story were money is above than all things. in our country just go and see the condition of poors how they are leaving . a boy who is working as a child labour just go and see he just earning for his small bro and sis, he is just behaving like a parents he just forget that he is a baby he foget all his dream, a mother have only two breads she will not eat see will give it to her child and live hungry for that time when her child not satiesfied , a fater has no cloth upon his boady but he has a drem that i will gave a coat to my son AND doughter . ya this is right taht we have no head phone and mp3 like u our child used to sleep after hearing there grad mother lories for them lories are music phone and gradmother stories are toys and its far better than ur expensive toys and emported mp3 players.in hindi i just want to say that "jaha do bade business haath milte hai wo america hai, jaha roj technology ke naye dukan khulte hai hai wo japan hai, jaha roj subah tute hua gamlo me mahkte risto ke phool khilte hai wo hindustan hai.............i pround to be an indian.

Slumdog Millionaire is beyond doubt a good movie, especially in terms of production value. The attempt has been to portray a realistic picture of India. However, I feel the film also had a fairy tale aspect to it. The underlying plot is the same old 'rags to riches formula'. On the other hand I recently watched the movie Barah Aana at the Pune Film Festival, and was overwhelmed by it. The story is based in today's Mumbai and highlights the social problems that a commonplace man faces in real life. You can read more about the plot at http://barah-aana-the-film.blogspot.com/. I found the depiction and the circumstances quite natural. The plot was gripping, full of action and suspense. Performances by Naseeruddin Shah and Vijay Raaz, along with the entire cast is very powerful. In my opinion it's going to be one of the best movies in 2009. So if you've found Slumdog interesting, this is one movie that you should be watching out for....

i agree.
its not a movie directed by an Indian anyway.
The music has a lot of touch of Arabic.
And its ironic how movies that show the poverty of India are always given importance. Our country has also progressed a lot and there isn't one movie that deals with the issues of the country . The ones that do are termed low budget small movies.
I think Slumdog wouldn't have been considered this good if it had some Indiand instead od Danny Boyle behind it.

In my opinion, Slumdog is nt at all a superb movie. It only shows the slums and wrong about India which has taken the message around the world that India is like this. People all over the world will never get to know what India ia all about.Only movies can let them know however, a movie like slumdog has alltogether passed a different message that India is only about SLUMS ,ch*ating, b*ggery and nothing else....
Eitherways foreginers has this misconception that India is like this, This is the time to show them that what India has achieved over the years... JAGO JAGO JAGO RE.....

Well first of all one needs to know what they mean by super. how do they define super is it something unique that has never been shown in foreign or indian cinema or is it something that the people can relate to etc. I would say it was unique in its own way since it had a lot of realism to it. the reason why it got so much hype was that first of all it was not made by a indian director and secondly before it was realesed in india foreign media gave it the height that it would not have achieved if it had been made by bollywood and also it was based around one of the most popular shows around the world (who wants to be a millionaire). i think all this pretty much sums it up and this is what makes it more than it is in india.

I agree with you, and the worst part is that the people who were not aware about India are now aware about what kind of a country is it after watching this movie and one can make it very easily in what sense they know India now. They think its all about slums, it was really good to see the very big artists of our industry rejecting to work in the movie, for the role of Anil Kapoor, first it was Amitabh Bachanji and then Mr. Shahrukh Khan and then Anil Kapoor worked for the role.
As an piece of art the movie is very good but not as a story.....
