i started this thread because i can't understand the reason,

why Malaysia awarded The Datuk award to bollywood star Shah rukh khan and not to another bollywood star Aamir khan or Tamil actor Rajnikanth who is famous even in Japan and other countries. ?

I like to know the reason for selecting SRK ?

anyone have idea clear me.

a malaysian newspaper quoted the reason because "SRK is ours" he helped the tourism to develop ? but don't know the correct reason

Hi there,
im a partial singaporean and malaysian and no one can answer you this question better than me.

ofcourse shahrukh is the best and king,
but biasness aside..

no one bothers screening any aamir khan movie in malaysia..the only movie they screen is Shah Rukh Khan Movies mostly.

cause you have millions of malaysian fans who love shah rukh khan and aamir khan could be popular in japan but not in malaysia, heck he is mediocure for the malaysians. rajnikaanth is more in the tamil industry and all the kings and presidents are bollywood fanatics.

furthermore,
Shah rukh has done two films in malaysia that has brought them into recognition..one two ka four and don. he will be shooting more and with him being a datuk, he pays nothing for renting locations n stuff...its a win win situation for both parties too.
